The Great Bear Foundation has long opposed the illegal international trade in bear parts, a serious threat to bear populations around the world. All eight species of bear are poached to satisfy demands in the Asian market for traditional Chinese medicine, and despite international regulations, some populations are seriously threatened by the illegal parts trade. The Great Bear Foundation addresses this problem by raising awareness of the issue and supporting stricter regulations and stronger enforcement world-wide. Learn more about the bear parts trade and what you can do about it in this informative article by Canadian Great Bear Foundation associate and board member, Jack Tobin.
