For the past 27 years, the Great Bear Foundation, based in Missoula, has trekked north each autumn to Churchill, Manitoba. Led by Dr. Charles “Chuck” Jonkel, who has over 50 years of field experience, the expeditions seek to educate people on polar bears and their environment. On Nov. 6, the group will embark on its 2010 Arctic Ecology Polar Bear Trip. Read the article.
