The Great Bear Foundation is pleased to announce our 2011 Summer Kids’ Trip to the Arctic!

Join us on a journey from Montana to Hudson Bay to learn about arctic ecosystems, look for polar bears, arctic fox, and beluga whales, harvest wild berries, comb the beaches, and much more! This one-of-a-kind field course is tailored especially for kids aged 6-16, but it’s also open to parents and kids at heart of all ages. August is a great time not only to look for wildlife, but also to explore the vast, open tundra, enjoy the abundant wildlflowers, experience daylight from 3:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and, if we’re lucky, catch a late-summer display of the northern lights!

The trip runs from August 13-23, traveling overland from Montana, with five full days and four nights in Churchill, and an option to travel from Winnipeg instead (August 14-22). Visit our field courses page for more information, or to register for this amazing opportunity to expose your kids to the rugged beauty of an arctic ecosystem in summer: Field Courses.
